In my work I investigate the way we deal with accelerating technological development, and its attendant overload of information we have to assimilate each day. How does this affect our subconscious, and our iconic collective memory? After years of painting I became fascinated by the so called 'found form'. I discovered that apparently accidental created forms can be a reflection of our subconscious, in which the stored information is transformed (you can read more about this
here ). Recognizing and registrating patterns is directly linked to that, you will find it in my work as well. Besides all that I find it very interesting how the meaning of an object (photo, image, statue, thing, whatever) changes, when you take it from its usual context.
In 2009 I exhibited quite a lot, whereby there wasn't much time for experiment and research. This year I want to integrate the various (old and new) media that I use a bit more, because this connects more with my ideas about technology and information. Especially I want to know more about the use of electronics, software ánd reusing discarded hardware. At the moment I'm working on a plan for a short animationmovie, in which I will use various techniques. I am also working on an 'ode' to bureaucracy, worktitle 'kunstwerk' (= artwork), the development of which can be followed online later on
